Coaching Skills for Leaders

According to a Gallup poll, updated in June 2013, employee behaviors are a direct result of their relationships with their managers and these relationships can mean everything to the organizations bottom line. Gallup found that:

18% of employees are actively disengaged. These employees are not just unhappy at work; they are acting out their unhappiness at a cost of up to $550B per year.

52% of employees are not engaged. They put in time, but not energy or passion.

30% of employees are engaged.  They work with passion, are connected to the work and drive to innovate.

What does it take to enable more employees to be engaged? It takes involving them in a way that draws out their best thinking and motivates them to perform more successfully. It takes fundamentally changing the nature of the conversation from one of directing and telling to asking and inquiring.  It takes coaching.

In this course you will learn essential coaching skills that allow you to help others to be more effective by tapping into the motivations that allow others to find strategies and solutions that wok best for them.  Leaders who utilize coaching skills have been shown to have more effective teams, higher morale, and better bottom-line results than those who do not. They also have high levels of retention of key people, better customer service in their organizations, and higher productivity.
